Great counsel from God’s word in chapter 4 where we learn that sometimes we simply suffer for being sinful while in other times we can suffer for being righteous.  It is righteous suffering that honors God and grows us to be like Jesus.  We shouldn’t seek it out but when and if it comes to us we can expect God to empower us to endure!

Revelation

Give all of your worries and cares to God because He cares about you.  This is a beautiful truth but one that is hard to believe unless you are allowing God to work in your mind and heart to morph your mindset and motivation.  It is a freeing thing to cast cares upon God because our load gets lighter and our disposition gets brighter!

Revelation

Timothy is taught to guard what he has been given - the word of God and the faith in Christ.  His #1 advice on how to guard these precious things is to avoid certain foolish discussion.  One of the enemy’s greatest tactics is to sideline the Christian with nonsense.  Don’t fool with it.  Ask God to guard your mind and heart by His great and powerful Holy Spirit and surrender any foolishness you are tempted to engage in to Him.  He is faithful.  He can Morph you so that you are not caught by such things.

God qualifies the called…not the opposite.  The list of requirements for an elder is daunting to each person that has ever wondered if God was calling them.  Yet, it is best known for its unremarkable qualities…these are the calls to the Christian life not just for the leader.  Let’s aim for this type of life with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit as our constant helper!

Revelation

The Holy Spirit Morph’s us to be faithful but the enemy of our souls is still at work deceiving, dividing and destroying and we must stay on guard against it!  God has given the church leaders who are called by Him and for His purposes and one of those purposes is to help equip each of us so that we are not as prone to the Wiley tactics of Satan.

It is Good News to know that Jesus is the only, exclusive way to God.  1 Timothy 2:5 teaches us that Jesus is the only mediator.  We can say He is the only ‘Mender’ to our ‘Marred’ life.  Trust Him today to do just that!

Not counting on our own strength requires us to count on God’s strength.  When we do that, we can truly rejoice because we see that He is all we need.  With that understanding, we can always ‘look forward to what lies ahead’.  Why?  We know that greater is He who is living in me than he that is living in the world!

Revelation

Our ‘forgetter’ doesn’t work very well.  Our minds can remember infinite details that we would be better served if those memories were deleted…however, the good things can often be fleeting because our brain is trained in the negative.  When God saved a person, He saves a mind as well.  His plan for our minds is to Morph our mindset over time so that we can truly ‘forget what lies behind’.  How is that going for you?

3:16 Plan - Week 35 - Day 2 - Year 3 - Philippians 2

Jesus was humble and so should His followers be…

Revelation

Complaining, arguing…these come out of pride.  They do not represent Christ well and are marks of the Marring of the flesh…even in the life of the Christ-follower.  How do we deal with them?  We ask God to empower us as He Morph’s us by His Spirit and we surrender these specific issues to Him and ask for Him to take control.
