3:16 Plan - Week 33 - Day 1 - Year 3 - Philemon

Before you can give grace in this world, or expect grace in this world, you must find grace from God through Christ.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Philemon 10 - I appeal to you for my son, Onesimus. I became his father while I was in chains.

Paul met the grace of God on the road to Damascus.  Philemon met the grace of God thru the ministry of Paul (v 20).  Onesimus met the grace of God by hearing the gospel through Paul.  Each of these men found grace first with God and then began to find it in life and give it in life.

Lord, I will run to Your grace today.

Revelation

We are Mended/Saved by God’s grace through our faith (Ephesians 2:1-10).  We cannot apply what we have not received.  Many well meaning people try their best to live lives of grace but fall short because they do not have the unending supply of that precious resource that is supplied when we are Mended by Jesus and are being Morphed by the Spirit of God.  Trust Christ to give grace to you…not just for the moment (although He does) but for eternity!

3:16 Plan - Week 32 - Day 4 - Year 3 - Colossians 4

Family is one of the benefits of being a part of the Church.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.

Paul concludes this letter with a challenge to pray, both intercessory and personal prayerfulness resulting in thanksgiving to God.  He goes through a list of individuals that serves as an update of well-being for those whom the recipients of this letter would consider to be faith family.  Who is on your faith family list?  Who is on that list that you might need to check in on?

Yield

Lord, I will remain committed to those within my faith family where You have placed me.

Philippians 4 is a similar call to prayer and thanksgiving.

Revelation

It is God who opens and shuts doors therefore we pray earnestly to Him to do so.  A common prayer of the Mended follower of Christ is to ‘open doors so that no man may shut them and close doors so that no man may open them’.  In this way, we are praying to Know God and His will.  Is there an area where a prayer like this could benefit your walk with Christ?

3:16 Plan - Week 32 - Day 3 - Year 4 - Colossians 3

A change of perspective sure helps a person of faith: look up to Christ!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Colossians 3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

What words would a person use to describe your attitude?  If any of them are on the Colossians 3 list of things to ‘put away’ then you could benefit from learning to set your mind on things above.

Yield

Lord, today I will set my mind on Christ and things above.

Not unlike the fruits of the spirit and flesh in Colossians 3, a Christ-follower is known by their fruit.

Revelation

How do I let the peace of God rule in my heart?  First, I believe what God has said about Himself in His Word…until I can say that I Know it and I Know Him.  From there, I ask God to give me His mind, His view, His way of thinking.  From there, He invades my mortal mind with supernatural thinking that then drips down south into my heart where I can receive His peace and security.

3:16 Plan - Week 32 - Day 2 - Year 3 - Colossians 2

A strong foundation on the Lord Jesus will keep you encouraged and strong!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Colossians 2:6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Ephesians 2:1-10 recounts the same concepts.

Revelation

The enemy of our soul works hard to deceive, divide and destroy and one of his favorite tools is to use nice sounding arguments to get us to do anything other than trust Christ.  Be wary of his schemes and don’t be taken captive by them.  Your foundation is Christ and He alone provides the cure!

3:16 Plan - Week 32 - Day 1 - Year 3 - Colossians 1

The hope of the Gospel is enough for you today!

Revelation

We come to know God by knowing His Son, Jesus.  We look at Jesus and see all we need to see about God, His love for us and His call for us to obediently serve Him with our lives.  Look at Jesus today, his life, death and resurrection…and be in awe!

3:16 Plan - Week 31 - Day 3 - Year 3 - Acts 22

Say YES to God usually means saying NO to our old way of life.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Acts 22: 4 And I persecuted the followers of the Way, hounding some to death, arresting both men and women and throwing them in prison.

Paul’s testimony included some bad things.  If it weren’t for the grace of God, He, and we, would be eternally separated from God and all that is good by the sin we have committed.  Thank God that He has chosen us, loves us and sends us!

Lord, I remember my past in light of Your great grace.

Read Acts 9.

Revelation

Never forget the day you were Mended by Christ.  Remember it.  Retell it.  Let the grace of God wash over you fresh and new each time you do.  If you don’t have a day like that where God poured His grace upon you through your faith in Christ then today can be that day.

3:16 Plan - Week 31 - Day 2 - Year 3 - Acts 21

Say YES to God can be complicated when those you love/trust would prefer you to say no.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Acts 21: 12 When we heard this, we and the local believers all begged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.

Disagreement is part of life.  Two Christ-followers can disagree and still both honor God.  Paul knew trouble awaited him in Jerusalem but knew all the more that God was calling him there.  Agabus (and others) only knew of the trouble so they counseled Paul against it.  God often gives good counselors to us to not just advise us what not to do but sometimes what to do while recognizing what it may cost to do it.

Lord, I will heed Your counsel above all.

Revelation

Only a person who Knows, Loves and Serves God would endure a beating and still want to share their faith with the culprits.  Paul was empowered by the Holy Spirit that was Morphing him into the very image of Christ when he pleaded ‘Please, let me talk to these people’.
