3:16 Plan - Week 46 - Day 4 - Year 2 - Luke 10:38-42

It is possible to be a busy servant and a reverent worshipper…though it isn’t easy.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Jesus blessed the busy and the boring…although is there really such a thing as boring in a world of God’s design - NOPE.  Mary learns how to worship and Martha learns it’s importance.  However, the tables can be turned at times when we find ourselves stationary when God is calling for action.  The goal - choose the most important thing.

Yield

Lord, help me to know when to be still and when to get serving.

Revelation

Mary was busy learning to Know God and enjoying His Love through Christ.  Martha was focused on Serving.  Both are important.  The wholly committed disciple will do both…so that the result is someone who Knows God with their Mind, Loves God with their Heart, and serves God obediently with their Hands.  The goal isn’t balance.  The goal is mature and intimate relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.

The classic story of the ‘good samaritan’ was given to help us understand what loving another person should look like for a person who follows Christ as Savior.  We are called to be generous and observant to the needs around us just as Christ has been generous and observant to our own plight.

Yield

Lord, give me eyes to see as You do and a heart to love as You do.

Revelation

We are never ‘expert’ enough to debate God on the law that was given by Him.  Rather, we are given knowledge from Him about Him to use for Him. He has infused us with the light of Christ and given us the Mind of the Lord by Morphing us by His Spirit.  Therefore, we don’t need to argue but can accept the Word of God with humility and attention.

3:16 Plan - Week 46 - Day 1 - Year 2 - Luke 10:1-24

God calls us each to Go and He calls us each to Pray.  Let’s be doubly obedient.

The disciples were now launched out into a ministry tour that would be preparatory for their ‘after-Jesus-ascends’ life.  They see God work mightily as they obey the call to Go and to Pray.  Are you seeing God work mightily in your life?  If not, could more ‘Going’ and more ‘Praying’ be part of the solution?

Yield

Lord, I will Go where you send me.

Revelation

The disciples marveled at seeing God at work as they served the Mission.  Jesus grounded them to spend more time Marveling that they had been personally given the gift of eternal life where they would one day Marvel in the Majesty of God for eternity.

Throughout the Bible, God uses many shepherds for His glory: Moses, David, the shepherds of the Nativity to name a few.  Here we see the shepherding nature of our Savior who even sacrifices His very life for His flock.

Yield

Lord, I will listen for only Your voice for guidance.

Extra Discovery

Read Psalm 23 and 1 Peter 5 to get a greater vision of the Lord your shepherd.

Revelation

Knowing God’s voice is a key to the life of faith.  Learning to hear him through His Word and by His Spirit is one of the greatest gifts.  Just like the sheep that know the voice of their shepherd, we are to train our ears to hear the voice of the ‘Good Shepherd’ so we can then obey it.

3:16 Plan - Week 45 - Day 5 - Year 2 - John 9:1-41

Sometimes the light of Christ needs to affect your physical life before it can affect your spiritual life.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Jesus demonstrates that He is the light of the world by giving sight (light) to the blind (dark).  Many doubt but this man’s testimony is faithful.  As God has given you His light, be sure to let that light shine through you to the world you influence.

Yield

Lord, I will share Your light!

Extra Discovery

Read Mark 10:46-52 to see that not every blind person was treated with the same exact formula by Jesus.

Revelation

The Light of Christ is imparted to a blind man.  Why?  The love of God met that man right where he was at in the form of the Savior (Jesus).  The result?  This man was given a new life in Christ including the ability to see both physically and spiritually.

3:16 Plan - Week 45 - Day 4 - Year 2 - John 8:12-59

Ask God to shed the light of Christ on any part of your life that seems dark.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

John 8:12 - "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."

Jesus encourages the people to recve Him, His testimony and His life.  Some do and are saved.  Many don’t and cause a fuss instead.  Jesus then tells them that the lies they are believing and speaking come from the devil…even though they have actually accused Him of being demon possessed.  I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to be trying to save a person and have them shouting at you that you have a demon.  Remember, sometimes those whom we are called to help don’t know how to receive it.

Yield

Lord, I do not want to walk in darkness and need Your light to see.

Extra Discovery

Jesus spoke 7 major I Am statements in the Gospel of John.  This text is one of them.   When He did so, He was telling the people who He was like God did in Exodus 3:14.

Revelation

Jesus challenges the doubters with the primary point that they do not ‘know’ God the Father and He does.  This is where faith begins and it is what helps it persevere.  Do you Know God or just know about Him?  God gave Christ to be the Light so we can know Him.

3:16 Plan - Week 45 - Day 3 - Year 2 - John 7:53-8:11

Once again, the religious leaders set a trap for Jesus and once again His grace and wisdom help Him overcome their petty arguments.  Living a grace-based life set upon justice rather than judgment will help us do the same.

Revelation

Jesus took a woman scorned and saw her through the eyes of grace.  Not as a Marred and despicable sinner in need of harsh punishment but as a broken young woman in need of His grace so she could be Mended and restored.  His call to her to ‘sin no more’ is a high order that she would need the morphing power of God’s Holy Spirit to fulfill.  Otherwise, the enemy could easily mislead her once again into the divisive and destructive behavior’s that landed her in this predicament.
