Who are we for? That is a positive statement. It brings to mind everything from cheering on a sports team to voting in a political election. Our text this week is a powerful reminder of what we need to remember about being ‘For Jesus’:
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. For the one who is not against us is for us. For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward. Mark 9:38-41 ESV http://www.esvbible.org/Mark%209%3A38-41/
Do we prove we are ‘For Jesus’ in our allegiance to Him? How about in our allegiance to others who are for Him…even if they looks and act differently than us? Do we cheer on His cause as much as our favorite team? Do we research His attributes as much or more than a candidate in an upcoming election? As we begin this new week let’s do so with a ‘For Jesus’ attitude that effects our thinking and doing.
I’m praying for you today!
