As you read the below Bible text, consider the evidence for Bart’s faith:
And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” (Mark 10:49-52 ESV)

I was on crutches at one point after being shot. If someone had asked me to get up without them I would have considered them crazy. Similarly, asking a blind man to get up and go somewhere that is out of his routine is not a normal request. That this man went is a sign that he had faith in the One who asked - Jesus, God The Son.
You have surely played games before in the dark. When you are in total darkness you are careful to keep whatever you need very close. Bart ‘threw off his cloak’. That act was an example of faith-in-action!
After getting up and throwing off his cloak, Jesus asks him what he wants. He shows another great faith in asking Jesus for his sight. A person’s prayer life is a powerful indicator as to their level of faith. What are they trusting God for? What are they asking for?
This man ‘asks big’ and shows that he has ‘mountain moving faith’. What is that? Read what Jesus in said Matthew 17 here:
For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Let’s do a faith check-up today. Are you currently trusting God for something that would be impossible without Him? If so, you have mountain-moving faith too! If not, it’s time to get started…all it takes is a mustard-seed.
