Here is a great devotional thought from Johannes Slabbert:
We go through life always chasing goals and making plans, plans that almost always are with the best of intentions. The intention is mostly how we can better or change the things that we have some type of control over... let’s face it this plans always start with ME!
How can I do this?
How will this affect me?
If I do that for them will it end up the way I want it to go?
Jesus came with a purpose to fulfill the Fathers plan. A plan that was made for Him. A plan that was intended to benefit you in a way that nothing else can and that is eternal life. This plan involved this ……
Mark 10:33-34 (ESV)
33 saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. 34 And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.”
Man!! Who of us if we could would choose this plan? Who would choose any suffering upon ourselves?
You see here that Jesus knew what He had to do. His plan was clear and He trusted the Father and he followed through to the end. We also see that this was not easy for Him. Hebrews 5: 7-8
Jesus gives an example that we can follow...when things don’t go the way you planned cry out to the Father.
The plan Jesus was on was all for you so that you can live a life of victory and a life of hope with the hope of eternal life.
It is awesome to know that God has a plan for you just like He did for Jesus. The plan God has for you is a plan that is way higher and greater than what you can ever plan. To get to what He has intended for you might mean that you will go through some valleys and some thorny patches but it will end on the mountaintop. God’s plan for you is all leading to one place and that place is Heaven.
I want to encourage you today as you walk into the unknown...walk with boldness. Don't walk fearfully, just trust in Jesus!
I challenge you to have confidence in God and His plan even when it does not make sense! He has the “chopper view” on your life so He not only sees but He knows where your road is heading and He is guiding you all the way.
Can you let go and let Jesus? The results are guaranteed peace!!
This song explains it so well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FxaUYjRtkc
