I remember a walk I took with my grandpa the afternoon after I had prayed to God for salvation in church that morning. I was 6 years old but it was a walk to remember because everything felt knew and amazing. Just like in our Bible text this week - http://www.esvbible.org/Mark%208%3A22-26/ - this man’s first walk after being restored had to be a true ‘Walk to Remember’!
And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.” Mark 8:26 ESV
What emotions and feelings did this man have as He took this ‘Walk to Remember’? How vibrant were the colors of the trees? How amazing was it to see things moving in the wind instead of just hear them? As his neighbors looked at him, and he was able to look back, what thankfulness and gratitude would have swelled up in his heart. He had been restored! He had been given a great gift!
When God does a great thing for us we should be able to stop and enjoy the moment. It should be memorable. I have a ‘Walk to Remember’. Do you?
