You have a responsibility to yourself

Thank you Johannes...for pointing us to the life-giving Word!

[5] And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray. [6] Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray. (Mark 13:5-6 ESV)

[12] And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. (Mark 13:12 ESV)

When something happens to my vehicle I take it to a mechanic and they can basically tell me anything and I will believe them. But when it comes to horses it is a different story. I can tell a capable horse from a horse with very little capability. I can also tell if a horse is the way I am told he is.

The reason for this is that I have spent many years working horses and got educated on basically any type of horse. All my life I have been transported or drove different types of vehicles but never took the time to understand how it all works. What I am trying to say is that I did not become a mechanic by just riding in a vehicle.

We see in today’s text some pretty tough times will come. People will tell you something that is close to the truth but will be leading you astray.  The people closest to you will turn against you. So how do you prepare and survive this time and not get pulled in?

You need to educate yourself! Just like I did not become a horseman by only watching someone else do it the same way you will not get the protection and education you need by only listening to others. I am telling you that you need to study and spend time in the Word of God! The Bible is your guidebook that will keep you from falling and from losing hope and perspective.

God gave us His word you need to make the choice to use it to its full potential.
