In the midst of the terrors and worrisome things Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 13 we find this command:
And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. (Mark 13:7 ESV)
Did you catch that? Jesus said there will be tough times but that the follower of Christ should not be alarmed! But Jesus, we want to freak out when things get hairy! He knows. But Jesus, we want to let our emotions flood out in times of trouble as if we didn’t know they might come. He knows that too…which is why He told us in verse 23 that 'I have told you all things beforehand’. He doesn’t want us running around like headless chickens. No, He has a purpose for our living so He gave us insight into the future (not all but enough) so we can live in confidence and preparation. So - Keep Calm and Do Not Be Alarmed today.
Spoiler Alert - I have been asked to right about a the ‘medium’ coming to town in a few weeks and will be doing so tomorrow. Maybe you have no interest in such things but I bet you will know someone who does so be ready to see a Biblical View on such things.
