You are going to enjoy the truth in today’s devotion written by Johannes. Read on!
Elections, Politics, Different Parties, etc. - when you mention these things you can get people’s attention. During debates, viewer records get broken because everyone wants to see if someone will step up and bring hope to them. A political leader has to have certain attributes for instance, they have to be a good public speaker that is able to draw a crowd. Another thing that people look for is their economical plans and their foreign policies. They are looking for someone that will restore their country to the great place it once was. Every leader in the past has let others down, they either had a great economic plan but a terrible defense plan or they had a great foreign policy but a terrible healthcare plan or whatever you want to list.
But there is this one leader!
In the Bible you read about a leader of hopeless people that found hope and of captives that got set free! We see this in Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
His foreign policy is: And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. (Mark 16:15 ESV)
…………. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:39 ESV)
He could draw a crowd: Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. (Matthew 5:1 ESV)
Now great crowds accompanied him, …………. (Luke 14:25 ESV)
His economic policy: “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at him. (Mark 12:17 ESV)
‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40 ESV)
His love for His people: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16-17 ESV)
Yes, my friends, this leader is Jesus and He is on the throne and alive and well! If you need something to believe in then choose a policy that brings you hope, a leader that leads by example, and a leader that has authority over all then look to Jesus. God raised him up, loosing the pains of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. Acts 2:24
Today put your hope in Jesus as your commanding officer as your leader. He is my King do you know Him?
