We heard a very good word from the Word yesterday from Danny Smith in regard to our responsibility as hope-filled followers of Christ.
Read this part of the text he used:
“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them. And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:9-11
Now, key in on verse 11. Have you ever worried about now knowing what to say or do in a certain situation? This verse tells me that, although I may worry about stuff like that in many situations, I need not worry about it when it comes to the great commission of my life! God has equipped me (and you) to be ready to share about Him.
Before you chalk up this verse to something that will only be important when tough times come I want you to reconsider. This verse is not just about Equipping you for one event at the end of the world. Nope! The same Holy Spirit is ready to guide you into all truth today. Today when you once again work next to that person you need to speak with about the goodness of God. Today when you once again have a class with that student with whom you have wanted to share Christ. You aren’t just equipped for later you are equipped to go now! Thank God that He knows our needs and fills us with His Spirit to guide us today!
