I continue to think about the amazing grace of the Father in the story of the prodigal - http://www.esvbible.org/Luke%2015%3A11-32/
Specifically this moment:
But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate. (Luke 15:22-24 ESV)
A normal person would have felt good about just allowing the boy back into the family farm and giving him a role as a lowly servant where he could be watched and evaluated over time. This Father gave more than that merciful act and second chance. He gave the young man a gracious feast!
A Follower of Christ carries around a faith in a Big God who gives Big Things! Let’s surprise those around us by giving freely and giving more than asked or expected. Jesus gave big and we are the recipients. Let’s do likewise and see the world changed for Him and by Him.
