Stand and fight!

Stand up and fight.

[14] And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” (Nehemiah 4:14 ESV)

We are fighting an enemy today, and everyday who desires that we, our neighbors and the people of this world live in chaos, brokenness, and destruction. Satan is constantly trying to stop God’s work here on earth. God’s command to us is to go unto all the nations and make disciples. This is a big task and the battle is fierce. Satan is not one to give up, and he constantly comes up with new ways to get you demobilized as you work for the Lord. The difference between how the Lord shows you what HE has planned for you and how Satan attacks you is this: Christ reveals His plan a little at a time to you, just as much as you can handle without getting overwhelmed or self sustained. Satan, on the other hand, drops an “atomic bomb” filled with things that will make life hard for you. His intention is to overload you and to give you more than you can handle so you will break and give up.

But we have hope. When the battle is fierce and we are called to fight for our homes, for our brothers, sisters, wife and children we can call on our commanding officer The Lord Jesus Christ! He mobilizes His angel armies to fight alongside us. Think about this:  if every believer would pray and encourage the groups/people mentioned earlier then we would see the protection and provision of God in mighty ways.

How do you fight this battle and encourage those in your home, church, and life?

1.     Call on God. Show your dependence on Him and make Him your refuge. Pray for protection for those around you. Ask God to show you what steps to take to continue the work He has called us to.

2.     Encourage one another. There is a saying …. When days are dark friends are few. When dark days come remind your friend of the great God we serve. Remind him of the great things God has done for him in the past and how He will never leave him or forsake him. Tell them that they are not fighting this alone. Get in the fox hole with them!

3.     Keep your eyes on Jesus. Colossians 3:2 says, ‘Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.’  Don’t focus on the problems Satan created for you. Keep your eyes on the victory you have in Christ Jesus. The Bible says if He is for us who can be against us. Romans 8:2

Christians we are called to battle. If you look at the world today you can see what happens if we do not fight. We see leadership makes decisions to kick Jesus out of everything and the world supports everything that goes against God and punishes those who stand on the truth.

So today I want to encourage you to STAND UP AND FIGHT!! Fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes and stand together as soldiers for Christ so we can gain ground against the enemy one by one.
