Paul prayed for the Colossian church that they would know, love and serve God Almighty.
Colossians 1:9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
As we begin this new workweek I am praying the same thing for each of us.
Knowing - not just a head knowledge but as he prayed, that God would 'give to you spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Loving - That out of that spiritual wisdom we would choose to love God and know that this choice of love is pleasing and honoring to Him.
Serving - that our lives would be purposeful and full of Meaning as we Bear Fruit in the world in which we live!
It is for this purpose that God sent Jesus. Jesus allows us to know, love and serve God in spirit and truth. As Paul wrote about Jesus:
Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
Rescued - Transferred - Purchased - Forgiven!
