Psalm 56 - A Powerful Promise Repels Fear

Faith isn't the absence of Fear.  It is trusting God in the midst of a fear that will repel that emotion and allow you to overcome it.

David wrote this Psalm in a time that he had plenty of good reason to fear.

3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

4 I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?

hat is your first response when fear creeps in?  Trust in God!

What's next?  Recall God's Promises from His Word and praise Him for that in the face of the situation that has caused you fear.

Once you have your eyes and heart on God's promise the object of fear will diminish in size and your object of faith (in Christ) will expand so that you overcome it!  Let this short verse find a spot in your heart today and recall it when fear creeps in next time.
