True Forgiveness Requires Faith

There are some things that you can 'sorta do' on your own but only do well with help. Forgiving someone is definitely one of those things.

Forgiving someone means you are giving up your right to hurt them because they hurt you. To do that means that you are admitting that you aren't the best judge and jury. That means you have faith that someone else is...

Forgiving someone biblically also means that you are opening yourself back up to them. Most people would rather build up a wall of defense yet true forgiveness gets you close enough to be hurt again. That takes great faith. Peter was an honest follower of Jesus who asked a good question in Matthew 18:

21 Then Peter came to him and asked, "Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?" 22 "No, not seven times," Jesus replied, "but seventy times seven!

My point for you to consider today...have you tried to be a forgiver but struggled? Could it be that you have been operating in your own strength? Place your faith in God through His Son Jesus and be ready to lay down the heavy weight of unforgiveness with His mighty help.
