Great Word today from Tom Roach that comes out of yesterday's 3:16 Plan Reading:
In Gen. 12:1-2(NLT) we read:
The Lord had said to Abram,
“Go from your country, your people
and your father’s household
to the land I will show you.
“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
Abram, by faith, obeyed God and left those things that can cause a person to feel significant and secure.
Heb. 11:8-9a (NLT) tells us:
“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country…”
Abram left what brought him significance and security and became like a stranger in a foreign land. He was willing to leave behind the familiar and comfortable to follow God’s instructions to him. By faith he obeyed.
What has God been asking from you? Might we learn from Abram’s example and step out in faith and obedience to do what he has called us to do. Let God’s Word be a guide.
