3:16 Plan - Day 4 - Week 2 - Year One - Genesis 17-18

Have you ever laughed at God or at His Plan?

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Lord, give me insight into your divine will so that I do not limit your work in my life.

Genesis 17-18 - https://www.blueletterbible.org/tools/MultiVerse.cfm?s=00088A

When Abram asks God to make Ishmael the heir of promise he does something we are often guilty of...asking God to bless our mess. God can do whatever He desires but we shouldn’t expect for Him to build His Plans around us when His way and ours do not jive.

Circumcision is a squeamish topic but the sign of it carries much value. Cutting away our outer layers can help us:

  1. Show our desire to honor God
  2. Become more in tune with Christ

The New Testament teaches us that the circumcision God wants most from us is one of the heart!

Has God ever prepared you prior to something bad happening? How do you respond to evil in the world? Abraham could have took a callous attitude towards Sodom and Gomorrah but instead he had compassion and even tried to bargain with God on their behalf. Note - when Bargaining with God make the deal contingent upon His grace not man's goodness.

Sodom and Gomorrah were large cities so to imagine that even 10 good people could not be found re-enforces the biblical truth that none are good without God's goodness within them which is only available thru Christ.

Lord trim away the sin from my heart so nothing impedes my walk of faith.
