3:16 Plan - Day 3 - Week 4 - Year 1 - Genesis 35-36

The Promises of God are available to us due to His Grace not our worth.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 119: 57 LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words! 58 With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised. 59 I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws. 60 I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.

Lord, thank you for your mercy! My future is committed to obedience.

Read - Genesis 35-36 -

As God sends Jacob and his family to Bethel, Jacob tells the family to get rid of all the family idols and purify themselves.  Certainly, this is good advice but why did they still have them in the first place?  When is the right time to purify yourself - how about as soon as you come to know you are dirty?!

God protects the family by causing the other nations to fear them.  God Almighty - El Shaddai - can use many means to protect and provide for us.  Consider how He has done this in your life…

Lord, help me to see you in the beginning and ending of life - the Alpha and Omega.

Extra Discovery

For a wonderful encouraging song around God’s Name - El Shaddai - listen to this:

The whole statement that is sung means - God Almighty, God in the highest, Lord.

We see God continuing to bless Abraham’s descendants even though they are sinful and imperfect.  His Grace is evident in spite of our ‘Marring’.  The Nation of Israel now had it’s location established and it’s ‘Father’s’ established.  God’s Work to develop a people from which He would bring forth Jesus Messiah was not done but the ‘first chapter’ is complete.
