3:16 Plan - Day 5 - Week 4 - Year 1 - Genesis 39-40

Integrity is what we do when nobody is looking.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 119:55 I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions. 56 This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments.

Lord, help me to reflect on your word and who you are…both night and day.

Apply

Nobody would know…it would be ‘just their secret’.  Potiphar’s wife was luring Joseph into an illicit affair.  The consequences would be death…if he was caught.  Instead, Joseph chooses the path of integrity and ends up in prison for it.  Why do bad things happen to Joseph at every turn?  Could it be that God is preparing him for something bigger?

In prison, Joseph is elevated to a position of leadership because of his integrity and attitude.  Even in the dark days, his faith was shining through.  How might this be an example for you to follow in your life?

Joseph again uses his spiritual ‘dreamer’ gift to give truth to two men.  One gets happy truth and one gets sad truth.  How are you using your gifts?

Yield

Lord, help me to be faithful to you and to resist the temptation to fall into what I think is ‘private sin’.

Extra Discovery

God can use a dreamer but not all dreams are of God.  Read Acts 2:17 to see how He plans to use them…

Revelation

Potiphar’s wife is an example of all the deceiving work of the enemy.  Marred and Misleading are his game.  Joseph’s choice to resist that temptation is an early glimpse of the choice of being Morphed by God.  His faith was enough to see him through many dark days.
