Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 72:1-4 : Give your love of justice to the king, O God, and righteousness to the king's son. 2 Help him judge your people in the right way; let the poor always be treated fairly. 3 May the mountains yield prosperity for all, and may the hills be fruitful. 4 Help him to defend the poor, to rescue the children of the needy, and to crush their oppressors.

Today’s text is a favorite! Solomon is asked by God ‘What do you want?’. Many of us would list some type of ‘stuff’ but Solomon asked for Wisdom to be able to do this huge job of leading people. When God answers, He does so BIG. He gives Solomon wisdom like no other on the planet. We serve a mighty and faithful God!
Lord, I also need Wisdom to walk in faith each day!
Today, we read of Solomon’s first wife by ‘allegiance’. He found that by marrying the daughter of rival nations he could find peace. This is wise when God is leading you to do this once. This is foolish when you multiply it.
Solomon’s first act of wisdom was asking for wisdom! Then we read of the incident of the two mothers and one child to see how wise he has truly become. People fight about many things in this Marred and Misled world. Deceit rules the day and it takes wisdom like Solomon’s to shed light on the situation. People and hearts are divided just like these two women and we must seek Wise ways to Mend them together by the Love of Christ. Some will settle for destruction rather than not get what they want or think they deserve (like the mother of the deceased child). Pray that God will empower you with understanding to navigate around such blind hatred. This understanding can be given through God’s Holy Spirit to those who are Mended by Christ!
