Hiram was a King of a powerful nation who had been friended by King David.  King Solomon now invests into this relationship for the purpose of trade so that the Temple can be built with all the splendor that God deserved.  Although Hiram was not King over a faithful or godly city, notice how he responds to Solomon’s requests.  As a follower of Christ, we must be mindful that every interaction we have is an opportunity to share the love and grace of Christ.

Yield

Lord, help me to care for my neighbors and build relationships that the Gospel travel on.

Extra Discovery

Luke 10:13-14 mentions the city where Hiram was King and compares current towns to it.  What is Jesus looking for in our city?  Faith in Him!

Revelation

Solomon used the resources that he had in plenty to finance the building of the temple with materials he did not have.  He would make annual and ongoing payments of these resources.  This is a wonderful view of how we each can use the gifts that God has given us as part of His Body so that we can accomplish greater things for God.  Do you know what those gifts are in your life?  Whatever they may be, they are mighty tools to be used in your life and they can be a huge blessing to those around you.  They are gifts given as you are Morphed by God’s Spirit.
