3:16 Plan - Week 37 - Day 5 - Year 1 - 1 Kings 7:13-51, 2 Chronicles 3:15-4:22

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Romans 12 : I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Read - 1 Kings 7:13-51, 2 Chronicles 3:15-4:22

Solomon brings in Huram to build the amazing tools of worship and sacrifice to be housed in and near the Temple of God.  This would be a huge function of the Temple System and Era in that the people now had a central place to perform all of the Old Covenant Sacrifice outlined for them in the Law.  This sacrifice would be a bloody reminder of their need for a Savior and their personal and national sin.  It would point to a time when Jesus, the Lamb of God, would take upon Himself the Sin of the world and lay down His life as the Once-For-All-Time Sacrifice for Sin.  When we follow Jesus as Lord and Savior He saves us from the curse of sin and gives us a new life where we can be living sacrifices!

Lord, help my life to be a living sacrifice.

What is in the names of the pillars?

Obedience of God’s Law was paramount for the nation of Israel and it is paramount to our lives too.  For them, they were called to first build the temple and then begin temple worship ceremonies, etc.  For us, we are called to become the Temple and live as living sacrifices so that our lives are fulfilling their spiritual worship.  Both are examples of the precise obedience required to obey a Holy God.
