Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
1 Kings 8:15 : Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, who has kept the promise he made.
Read - 1 Kings 8:1-21, 2 Chronicles 5:1-6:11
The Temple is built and now Israel brings the Ark of God (containing only the 10 Commandments in it) into the Temple. God’s presence fills the place! When we put God’s Word (represented by those stone tablets) into the center of our worship we can rest assured that God’s presence will always be with us and in that!
Lord, I will choose to put Your Word into the center of my life.
At some point, two other items were placed into the Ark.
God’s presence was such that the men had to leave the Temple when He covered it! Like Moses who couldn’t look at God’s face, our limited humanity doesn’t have the staying power to be in God’s presence. Yet, Jesus was God the Son and since He ‘took on flesh’ we were able to be near Him. This is a wonderful picture of the grace of God and the gift of the Mending of Christ. Jesus made a way that we could be near God! Now and Forever!
