The Temple Era has begun.  God dwelt with Israel and the Temple was now at the center of the cultural, religious and physical life of the nation.  Consider this, if we are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19) shouldn’t we be in the middle of all that is going on in our world as well.  Wouldn’t the presence of God in the life of the follower of Christ be a positive influence in culture?  Couldn’t our presence be a conduit of God’s presence in an otherwise dreary or depressed situation?  Just as the Temple become central when God’s presence entered it…consider how God may be calling you to be a man or woman of influence as a modern day temple of God.

Revelation

What would be the purpose and meaning of all this work on the Temple?  Was the end result that God would be near Israel? Actually, the end result and goal was much larger than that…the purpose and meaning of God dwelling with this one people is found in 1 Kings 8:60 “Then people all over the earth will know that the LORD alone is God and there is no other.”  The meaning of all of Solomon’s work on this Temple was bigger than just Israel.  It was so that the globe would Know, Love and Serve the One True God!
