Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 79:9 : Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.
Read - Psalm 79, 80, 81
Psalm 80 calls for God to ‘come back’ to His people Israel. However, just as is the case today…it is not God who has moved. Like sheep, people wander out of the pasture into a harsh world full of trouble. Only then do we realize that it is us that has moved. Do you want the great news? God pursues us even still and calls us to return to Him. He promises that if we draw near to Him that He will draw near to us. Hear God’s voice calling for you to ‘come back’ to Him.
Lord, I will draw near to You and trust that You will draw near to me.
Psalm 79 is a prophetic glimpse of something that would happen. Asaph saw the Babylonian siege centuries before it happened! http://www.keyway.ca/htm2015/20150208.htm
Sitting in the Temple, Asaph was given a glimpse of a horrific future filled with destruction and despair. What does that do to a person’s faith? Knowing that we have an enemy that will Deceive and Divide and Destroy in the future can be hopeless if we don’t also Know that we have a Holy God who desires to fill us with His Light and Love and Life and even to prevent the destructive forces of the enemy in our life.
