Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Proverbs 3:5-6 : Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Read - Proverbs 1-3
Solomon writes this book of wisdom as if it is to his children…yet it is for us today as well! Consider a discipline of reading one chapter of Proverbs each day so that you would go through it once per month. You would gain great wisdom - the thing more profitable than sliver or gold!
Lord, give me the common sense of the honest!
I had a friend who read a Proverb a day for many years…imagine the wisdom gained! As we start our journey in this book here is a summary:
These three chapters of wisdom parallel wisdom with the poor decisions of the person who is led by anything other than it. This is a reminder of why ‘Knowing God’ is at the top of our discipleship process. If we do not fill our heads with the knowledge of God (wisdom) then we will be led into activity by emotions or by others rather than by love for God. Our activity will be destructive to us and to others rather than pure service to God and others. The Word says wisdom is hidden in Christ. Have you found it?
