3:16 Plan - Week 41 - Day 2 - Year 1 - Song of Solomon 5-8

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

1 Corinthians 13:7 - Love never gives up.

Read - Song of Solomon 5-8

The Covenant of Marriage has much in common with the Covenant love relationship we can have with God through Christ.  Some ‘endure’ the covenant considering it mundane.  Others run from the covenant thinking they can experience all the same pleasantries on their own terms with greater freedom.  Yet, the Covenant of Marriage is anything but mundane when we consider it is an exclusive commitment of shared intimacy for life.  There is nothing more freeing than recognizing you have a life that is knitted to yours for good.  Embrace the covenant with ‘the one’ God has set aside for you and enjoy!  Likewise, embrace the Covenant of Faith in Christ with ‘The One’ who set aside His own life to purchase ultimate freedom for you!

Lord, help me to see the infinite value of your Covenant love.

Sex.  The word carries many images and connotations.  Yet, when we read this little bible book we are reminded that it is not a dirty word.  How has this been twisted?  God revealed this intimacy between a man and a woman from the beginning in Genesis 2.  Immediately, Satan came and twisted this intimacy into a worldly thing filled with lust and lure.  God bound man and woman together in the covenant of marriage (Genesis 2:24-25) yet Satan divided this relationship with the introduction of sin (Genesis 3:7).  Man and Woman were Marred by Sin and now lived in shame and separation.  Can the beauty of intimacy be regained?  Yes.  When we are Mended by Christ we can then be Morphed by God’s Spirit and given the Mindset of Christ.  From that vantage, we may enter into an appropriate relationship with sex within the wonderful walls of marriage to another who has been mended, morphed and given the Mind of Christ.  Rediscover the beauty and wonder that God meant for us to have in relationship to Him and to our mate for life.
