Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
1 Kings 16:19 - For he, too, had done what was evil in the LORD's sight. He followed the example of Jeroboam in all the sins he had committed and led Israel to commit.

Leadership is a gift given by God as well as an opportunity earned with man. Zimri arrested control of a wicked nation by wicked and murderous means. Deviousness may get us what we want in the short run but it has dire consequences. Zimri’s reign only lasted 7 days and his fate was as bad as those he murdered. To lead as a follower of Jesus is to follow Christ in faith to the point that others follow you. What type of leadership is your life known for?
Lord, help me to follow you and lead others out of that pursuit.
The conditional blessings given in 2 Chronicles 15 sound much like the conditional promises of the Covenant originally given to Israel during the time of Moses. Our God does not change. To receive the blessings of God, we must seek Him. To abandon God is to find ourselves empty of His blessings. This can even be true for the follower of Jesus…you may have eternity secured but live in a hellish fashion on earth because you are not walking in God’s will and way as He has called you. As James said ‘draw near to God and He will draw near to you’.
The prayer in 2 Chronicles 14 is a great picture of faith. This type of prayer is a recognition of the difference The Spirit of God provides when we surrender to Him and seek Him. As a follower of Christ, this is a prayer we can pray today as we are morphed by God’s Spirit. God provides His Holy Spirit to transform our lives and the outcome of our situations. This is a grace that you can experience.
