The old saying “The rich get richer” comes from horrible stories of abusive leadership like this one. Often, we think that we can manipulate life so that we get what we want. This may be true at times but is a very short-sighted view. As a follower of Christ, everything I do is seen. Nothing is hidden.
Lord, help me to make decisions that bring Christ-like action.

Jezebel replies to her husband, “Are you the king of Israel or not?” Just because you have a position of power and authority does not mean that you should go around wielding it without consideration. To Know God is to know His heart on matters like this…and to know His word as He had spoken in His law about not selling the family inheritance permanently. As a follower of Christ, we are morphed by the Spirit so that we will wield any power and authority that we have in such a way to honor God and honor one-another. Does your title or position influence you to do things that do not honor God or is the transforming work of the Holy Spirit causing you to walk in authority in a different way than the world might walk?
