Apply

Israel is in a death spiral.  Judah is not far behind.  Poor decisions.  Strong enemies.  Treachery.  Even still, God’s grace is great.  Elisha’s last act recorded in scripture (his 28th miracle) would be a prophetic promise that they would find victory 3 times over an enemy that had oppressed them greatly.  Why does God give such good things to such corrupt people?  That is His character!  If He didn’t do this, you and I wouldn’t have the gift of salvation given in Christ.

Yield

Lord, Your grace is amazing and I need it!

Revelation

There are many ways for the follower of Jesus to serve God.  We can do it through actions, words, etc.  In todays reading, the nation has the opportunity to serve God through giving.  The proceeds of these gifts was for the repair and upkeep of the temple.  We often shy away from the power of giving in the modern church.  It is a joyous thing to be able to Know and Love God to the point that we are motivated to give of the blessings He has given us in our pocketbooks.  Just as it pleased the Israelites to give in this way, so let it be for us!
