Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
2 Chronicles 27:6 - King Jotham became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the LORD his God.
Read - 2 Kings 15:32-38, 2 Chronicles 27:1-9, Micah 1:1-16
If messengers kept showing up at your place of employment emphatically telling you that they had just been by your house and it was on fire, what would you do? This is the place of Israel and Judah. God graciously keeps sending new prophets with the same message (although more severe each time). Why? His grace would see that ‘none perish but all would come to repentance’. Are there problem areas of your life that God’s Word continues to point out to you? Choose to turn from them before the ‘house is burned to the ground’.
Lord, give me the ability to hear Your warnings as well as Your blessings.
A summary on the Prophet Micah:
In Micah 1:9, the prophet laments that ‘my people’s wound is too deep to heal’. This was true of the nation and is true of each of us without the mending power of Christ. The wound of sin breaks our ability to Know, Love and Obediently Serve God. It Marr’s our lives in irreparable ways apart from the power of the Cross. It exiles us from the abundant life that Christ promises to His followers. This is not God’s plan. This is satan’s plan. Surrender to the power of the Cross so that the judgment and discipline of the nation of Israel isn’t your fate. Take the power of the Cross in your life by following the One who hung on it for you! Then, your deep wounds will be Mended by Christ!
