Isaiah 7:9 - Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.

Read - Isaiah 7:10-8:22

God desired the nation to ask for a sign at this time.  Why?  He wanted to show them that His plans were good and that He was working out a future reconciliation of people to God through them.  The sign is that of the virgin birth of Mary that would bring Jesus into the world.  Isaiah 7:14 records the historic prophecy centuries before it would happen in Bethlehem: ‘Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means 'God is with us’)’. is the big miracle that begins a long string of miracles of proof that God loves us, that Jesus is God the Son and that man’s way into relationship to God is through Him and Him alone.

Lord, help me to live knowing that You are with me.
