After a week of hearing about wicked King Ahab it is refreshing to hear of the nation of Judah seeking God in times of distress. It is even more encouraging to hear how God would go before them and fight their battles. When they faced insurmountable odds, they stopped and sought the help and rescue that only God could provide. This is a pattern for our own living!
Lord, I recognize there is much in this world that can overtake me without You. Please help me.

Not every valley is bad. The valley of blessing became the name of the place where God delivered Judah from it’s enemies. Earlier that week it would have been feared and looked at in dismay. It is often our perspective that labels an area out of fear rather than faith. The people of Judah knew that fear wasn’t going to win any battles so they stopped everything and called out to God. God was not silent. He answered them with an encouraging Word…He would deliver them! In times of uncertainty and fear, we need to Know God even more…yet, these are the times we are most likely to fall back on our own ‘human wisdom and understanding’. Let’s learn and apply the people’s choice of 2 Chronicles 20 - Know God in the midst of a trial!
