3:16 Plan - Day 4 - Week 8 - Year 1 - Job 36-41

Although we feel small in comparison to God, He has placed great value upon our lives!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 8: 1 O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. 2 You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you. 3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers--the moon and the stars you set in place-- 4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

Read - Job 36-41

Elihu concludes setting the stage for Job to have his defense/audience with God and then He comes…in a whirlwind!

God Almighty doesn’t address Job’s questions.  Instead, He gives Job a great vision for Who He Is and What He Has Done.   Sometimes, we don’t need an answer but we need to see God is bigger than our question!

Job is confronted by God and He backs up…as we all would!  In essence, he says “Nevermind, what I was babbling about isn’t nearly as important as what You have to say to me.”  Let us adopt this attitude and listen and watch for where God works and give Him honor, praise and glory for it.  This includes trusting Him on the things we don’t understand.

Lord, I yield to your Omnipresence (You are everywhere), Omnipotence (Your unlimited Power) & Omniscience (You know Everything) today.

Extra Discovery

A few other encounters of God speaking have also left man speechless.  My favorite is found in Isaiah 6 when the prophet can only speak of his inadequacy and sin in the face of God’s perfection and Holiness.

Did Job come to Know his Creator better in these chapters?  Yes!  Job would be able to Love and Serve God so much better after this encounter.  We should pray to Know God in this way even if it seems a fearful encounter.
