God calls Israel to follow Him rather than any other custom or ritual.  Our New Covenant calls for the same type of singular obedience to Christ who has fulfilled the law.

Not just obedience, but celebration would also be a part of Israel’s rhythm’s of life.  Celebrations called festivals would be regular events to remember what God had done for them and was doing with them…does your life have spiritual celebration as a rhythm?

Moses would sacrifice and cover Israel with the blood of the sacrifice.  The Blood was a foreshadowing look towards the redeeming blood of Jesus shed for you and covering you by faith in Him.

Moses would spend 40 days on the mountain with God.  How about that type of ‘quiet time’ in our life?  Often, we struggle to find 5 minutes!

Yield

Lord, Your Word is enough for me.  Time spent with you is what I desire.

Revelation

Moses was continuing to come to Know God more and more as he spent more time with Him.  We see this as a clear need for our own faith.  To Know God best we must spend time with Him.  We do that through His Word and through other spiritual disciplines like fasting, prayer, solitude.  These disciplines are only helpful in our quest to Know God when we begin with Knowing Him through His Son Jesus.
