3:16 Plan - Day 3 - Week 9 - Year 1 - Exodus 5-6

Just because you tell a bully (sin) to let you go, doesn't mean it will.  It may even grab onto you with greater force.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Matthew 26: 39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

Just as Jesus prayed in the garden, I pray that you will give me relief from the heavy burden of sin.

Apply

Moses is obedient to the Lord.  His people pay a heavy price for it.  Is obedience costly?

Pharaoh considered himself a god so to hear that another deity was imposing authority would cause him to competitively act.  This would begin the process of the One True God revealing Himself to Israel, to Pharaoh and to Egypt.  Has God revealed Himself to you?

Moses still felt inadequate to serve God by speaking to Pharaoh.  Aaron would come and speak for him.  Have you ever felt inadequate to serve God in a way you sensed He was leading?

Yield

Lord, even when sin’s grip is tight, help me to cling to You so that I can see Your victory over it in my life!

Extra Discovery

Think brick-making didn’t sound like too rough of a job in slavery?  Watch this:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqZhHgs9w6Y

Revelation

Trusting God even after Pharaoh imposes stiffer slavery upon Israel was a big test that would challenge Moses/Aaron.  Did they really Know what God wanted?  Would they follow through even when the noose got tighter.  The Marring of Sin doesn’t let go easily and things can often get worse before they get better.  Persevere to see The Lord bring Freedom!
