3:16 Plan - Day 4 - Week 13 - Year 1 - Leviticus 5-7

So thankful that these ongoing sacrifices have been replaced by the Once-For-All-Time Sacrifice of Jesus!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 119:9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 10 I have tried hard to find you--don't let me wander from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Read - Leviticus 5-7

God’s grace is seen even in the minutia of the law.  He is protecting and purifying at the same time.

Leviticus 6 gives a provision for how to repent (turn back) from theft.  Even after a poor decision that leads to sin, there isa way to make it right.

Leviticus 7 gives provision for an offering for unintentional sin.  This shows that repentance is required for sin even if it was un-intended.  It also shows a peace offering which was given voluntarily to say thanks to God for His care in your life.

Lord, I want my life to be sacrificial in nature for the purpose of glorifying you and pointing to Jesus.

Extra Discovery

Leviticus 5:7 shows the provision for poverty in sacrifice. Read Luke 2:22-24 to see the Lord Jesus’ family obeying this law.

All the blood from all these sacrifices…can you imagine it?  Even so, that blood only brought temporary relief from the burden of sin.  Sin was defeated eternally by the Blood of Jesus.  For God was pleased to have all His fulness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.  Colossians 1:19-20
