God will make a way where there seems to be No Way!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 107 - Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love.

Apply

What a great picture - open wide your hand.  A huge contrast to a tight-fisted control on our stuff.

This new generations is given the Passover regulations (as well as the other festivals).  God wouldn’t let the people forget their rescue from slavery.  It reminds me of our nation’s ‘never forget’ mantra except this is about not forgetting a very good thing. Once again, we see the offerings of time desired by God.

Yield

Lord, You chose me and I choose You back!

Extra Discovery

Remember the basis of the Justice given in Deuteronomy 16:18-20 came from Exodus 18 with Jethro’s wise advice to Moses.

Revelation

Christ is King of the heart of the Christian.  Deuteronomy 17 gives a provision for a future King although God also tells the people that He will be their King and that bringing up a king like other nations is a sin.  This is no conflict.  It is a provision in how to do it the right way.  In a few months, more will be revealed about the kingship of Israel (in 1 Samuel).  Whether we have a political King or not, King Jesus is the one we need to Know, Love & Serve.
