Have you ever got to see something that reminded you of what you were missing?
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 139: O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. 5 You go before me and follow me.
Read - Deuteronomy 33-34
Chapter 33 is an interesting blessing from Moses that draws some similarities and some fulfillments from Genesis 49 over 400 years prior.
In Chapter 34 Moses gets a glimpse of the promised land before dying. This rescuer, who followed God in so many ways, will not get to enter into the land. Certainly, he would have been disappointed. Likewise, disobedience can hold us back from seeing all of God’s promises and goodness.
I want to live a life that isn’t deterred by disobedience.
Who wrote Deuteronomy 34 if Moses wrote the first 5 books of Scripture and died in that Chapter?
Did Moses Know God? Chapter 34 says he knew him face to face. Did Moses love God? Moses told God that if he didn’t go with him than he didn’t want to go. Did Moses serve God? Absolutely…yet he wasn’t sinless. As good as Moses was, he was a man pointing to a time that would bring about the sinless Messiah to follow in the way, truth and life.
