Passing down God’s Word is a legacy you will never regret.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Deut 6:5-7 - And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
Read - Numbers 28-30
Remember that we just read about a census of the people that made it clear that this was a new generation. God saw fit to give them a repeated teaching on the sacrifices and offerings. Why? He cared enough to allow them to hear Him.
The 7th month was a special month in the calendar of Israel. They had 3 holy gatherings. The number 7 is said to be the number of completion. Chapter 29 gives teaching for the offerings during that time.
Lord, I want to share Your Word with others who haven’t heard it or followed it.
Vows are an important part of any person’s faith walk. However, the New Testament gives clarity to how to approach our commitments when Jesus says ‘let your yes be yes’ in Matthew 5:37.
To be God’s people should be to act with God’s care. One distinction for followers of Jesus would be that we care about fulfilling our promises. We shouldn’t make idle vows. If we Know God and Love Him then one of the ways we can serve Him is to speak with honestly and act with integrity.
