3:16 Plan - Week 17 - Day 1 - Year 1 - Deuteronomy 1-3

A trip down memory lane can be for the purpose of not journeying that way again.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

John 15:7 - If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Read - Deuteronomy 1-3

After 40 years of wandering, The Lord tells this new generation of Israelites that the time has come to enter the land of promise.  Before going forward, Moses walks these young families through a history that includes: 1) Their rebellious ancestors, 2) Their faithful God, and 3) The victories God has brought them through.

Lord, as I survey the journey of my life thus far I see You are faithful.  Help me to follow you on the journey forward.

Extra Discovery

A good summary of this book (Deuteronomy) as we begin reading it:

To Know God is to Know of His faithfulness, even in spite of our rebellious hearts.  Israel had become a nation of young people that would now Know the fulfillment of the Promise made to their fore-fathers (all the way back to Abram).  God’s faithfulness is one of the attributes of God that compels our Love for Him and fuels our service to Him.
