3:16 Plan - Week 21 - Day 1 - Year 1 - Judges 1-2

History will repeat itself unless you break the cycle with The Lord’s help!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Deuteronomy 8:1 - “Be careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multiply, and you will enter and occupy the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.

Read - Judges 1-2

Chapter 1 starts positively with a few tribes working together to drive out the evil from the land but it ends with a list of failures where the people did not fully remove the inhabitants.  Chapter 2 shows that God didn’t enable them to complete the conquest because the people fell into a mess by mixing up faiths with the people.

When Joshua dies, Israel falters.  Why?  There wasn’t a strong spiritual heritage to be passed on and passed down.  Let us never forget the need to leave a legacy of faith to the generations going after us!  Israel would now be in a season of judgement where God would appoint Judges to save them from their enemies, little by little.

Lord, help me to not forget Your Word so I’ll not miss Your will.

Extra Discovery

Here is a good intro to this new book in our 3:16 Bible Journey:

God’s Creation (The Land) can be used for good or for evil.  In the same way, just because it is a good land of promise doesn’t mean man can’t find mischief in it…especially if they forget their Creator.  Israel falls into this sin and the land of milk and honey becomes a land of war and strife.
