We serve a King that will never perish!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Though I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death, no evil would I fear, for you are with me. (Ps 23:4)
Read - 1 Chronicles 12:20-22, 1 Samuel 31:1-13, 1 Chronicles 10:1-14
The Philistine army defeats the Israelites and King Saul and several of his sons (including Jonathan) perish. After many years of chasing David, Saul finally dies due to his unfaithfulness to God’s plan for his life (1 Chronicles 10:13-14). This will ultimately make way for the new King (David) who has been anointed and has been being prepared for some time.
Lord, help me to be faithful to You and to seek Your guidance.
Tomorrow you will read a contradictory account of Saul’s death…which is right and is this a biblical contradiction?
Saul’s life is over and his funeral forthcoming. The evil of the land and the plans of the enemy have stolen all that could have been from his life. He lived with deception and division and destruction most of his days. It is a sad commentary of a life that could have been.
