The Holy City of Jerusalem is established as David’s home and will eventually be the place for the Temple.  Surrounding enemies give homage to this growing Kingdom and King.  Likewise, as spiritual victories are won in modern times, the world will take notice of the Kingdom of God and King Jesus.

Lord, help me to be a useful member in your Kingdom advance in the world.

Extra Discovery

Here is our first mention of Solomon in 2 Samuel 5.  This is a full list of historical sons of David listing children who were not all born at this time.

Revelation

David had been given victory so many times but this one had to be a huge milepost in his spiritual formation.  After years of wandering, he is given a place of home and of rest.  A huge benefit of being Mended by Christ is having a place of home and rest.  Here and Now, our rest/home is more of an internal bearing of being ‘In Christ’.  There and Then, our rest/home is being fully present with The Lord in the New Heaven and New Earth.
