Even after an up and down season, praising God is the way to go!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
Read - 2 Samuel 22, Psalm 18
David takes time through-out his journey to give praise to God. Whether he is on top (in victory) or in a valley (feeling defeated), David called out to God. These two passages are a wonderful praise to a God who has shown Himself mighty and faithful. Let’s take time to praise God whether we are up or down!
Lord, I praise You for what You have done in my life.
Some of David’s praises here bring us to a visual of God also given in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4-5.
The longer we live the closer we hope to get to God. Compare David’s Psalm 18 to some of his earlier writing. Note how specific he is about God and his attributes. His quest for Knowing God was coming to fruition. Likewise, as our faith journey continues, we should be experiencing a closer walk with God.
