Wait on The Lord with patience and He will lift you out of the mess!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 38:22 - Come quickly to help me, O Lord my savior.
Read - Psalm 38-40
Psalm 38 reminds us of the heavy toll that sin carries on a person physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. David calls out in repentance to the One who can do something about this malady.
Psalm 39 - life is short so we must keep short accounts with God and man.
Psalm 40 seems to answer the despair of the two prior songs. God is on the throne and moving in His time and Way. You can trust in Him and rest in Him while you wait upon Him.
Lord, I recognize my sin and confess it to You so that I may be free!
David suffered some for his sin but often suffered unjustly as well. Here is a good word on that: “For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.” 1 Peter 2:19
God calls us to serve Him obediently…not out of what we know about Him but out of our heart that s shaped by what we know about Him.. Why? Our heart desires have staying power where our head can be much more fickle when our heart isn't in it. The best practice: come to know God even though Ps 40:5 says you won't ever come to His end), truly grow to love Him (as Ps 40:8 instructs that when our heart is His we will find joy) and then serve Him faithfully (as Ps 40:8 tells us we are afforded the opportunity to do His will).
