The Lord who you can trust always is also The Lord you can trust now!

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Psalm 122:6 :  Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.

Read - Psalm 122, 124, 131

Do you ever ask questions about what would happen if God wasn’t involved in your life?  Psalm 124 asks this question to the nation of Israel. In human terms, they were puny.  David reminds them that they would have been destroyed many times over if it weren’t for the intervention of a Holy God.  What a cure for pride or even forgetfulness.  Ask yourself today “What would my life look like without God’s presence?”

Lord, I will cry out to You when I am in anguish and I will find my hope in You too!

Extra Discovery

Psalm 122:5 speaks of the thrones of judgment in the city of Jerusalem.  True that judgment was handed down in human form from these thrones.  Revelation 20:11-15 outlines a final judgment given to all humanity from a Holy God.

Psalm 131 is a Psalm of a maturing person of faith.  When young, we get so caught up in matters that aren’t very significant.  We get upset when we go too long without a meal.  As a person matures in life, they learn to have more staying power.  This is also true in theChristian walk.  We learn not to take offense.  We learn to wait upon the Lord.  We learn that He is the only true place to put our hope.  This is Maturity and it is given as we gain wisdom and grow in the Spirit. That is why we see Maturity as one of the primary outcomes of the Christian Life.
