Apply

Jesus wasn’t trying to limit understanding of God but was teaching that to know God will require a deeper interest than just wanting a free meal or a light bill paid.  Where our attention is speaks to what is important to us.

Yield

Lord, I will listen to You…please give me attentive ears and an attentive heart.

Extra Discovery

Read James 1:19 and apply it to listening to God.

Revelation

God desires that we Know Him intimately.  We come to know a person by listening to them.  As we listen and observe then we begin to hear and understand how deep the Father’s love is for us and this deepens our own love for Him.  God’s Word can seem difficult (like the parables did to some) but only if we are not paying full attention.  Dig in with a true interest to Know God and He will not disappoint!
