Those closest to the miracles of Jesus often did not believe and those farthest from God were typically the ones most changed by the Messiah. Let’s not get so close that we are immune to the power of God!

Read - Matthew 13:53–58; Mark 6:1–6
His own people did not know Him (John 1). Rather than affection, they took offense. They missed the King of Glory because they didn’t see how anyone could come from their ‘side of the tracks’ and make a difference. Let’s always leave room for God to do the unthinkable amongst us. This is how we fulfill the beatitude of being ‘pure in heart so that we may see God’.
Lord, I want to be incredibly close to You but help me not to miss Your glory due to that proximity.
This is the light that Isaiah prophecy’s in Isaiah 9:1-2 that would come to Galilee of the Gentiles.
Oftentimes people balk at the ‘Sunday School’ answers of faith that says the answer to all things is going to be Jesus. For us, it is true. Jesus came to His own in Galilee and Nazareth to bring His Mending Salvation to them and they wanted another answer. The only answer to being Marred by Sin is Jesus whether you are in Sunday school or a rehab!
