John the Baptist had been a faithful messenger for God.  Now his faith was going to get him killed.  True persecution like this is so hard to see in the world.  It still happens today.  Praying for the persecuted is a vital role for the Christ-follower.

For the person who endures to the end after being Mended by Christ you can expect to have an eternity Marvelling in the Majesty of God.  This was John the Baptists reward.  However, you might say, “How could he endure such suffering?”  The answer is that he was empowered/Morphed by the working of God’s Holy Spirit.
