This collection of Psalms were for the purpose of praising God in the hearing of the myriads of people who would travel to the Holy City of Jerusalem on pilgrimage for one of the great festivals (like Passover).  They contain reminders of God’s faithfulness as well as promises for faithful people.

Revelation

Longing for God - this is usually associated with a lost/marred person who recognizes their need for salvation.  However, as you ready Psalm 130, you hear this longing coming from a person who already knows, loves and serves God.  The point, the more we grow to love the Lord and the more we have already experienced that relationship, the more we will naturally long for His presence.
